COVID-19 and Weddings Update

March 25, 2020

Updated as of 1 January 2021:

You can opt for a face-to-face consultation meeting with physical distancing measures or a virtual (Zoom or Google hangout) meeting.

Current clients will always have priority over new business. Every couple will have the option to move their wedding date once without any fees or charges if the Victorian government introduces restrictions that stipulate that your wedding cannot go ahead as scheduled.

Updated as of 7 July 2020:

Due to the re-introduction of Stage 3 restrictions in Melbourne, all face-to-face consultation meetings will revert to Zoom meetings.

There are select dates left in 2021, and I would love to keep the conversation going with you. So get in touch wherever you are in your dreaming process and we can have a chat about how to proceed!

Updated as of 24 May 2020:

Hooray! I’m happy to say that business at the studio is slowly returning to normal.

From June 1 onwards, as Victoria’s limits on ceremonies are lifted to allow up to 20 people at weddings, I’ll resume taking bookings for 2020 weddings and celebrations.

The following COVID-19-related policies are still relevant MOVING forward.

It’s a weird weird time, and we’ll get through it together

A global pandemic was the last thing you expected when planning your wedding. It’s not selfish to think to yourself that it hurts – it does hurt when hope is deferred and plans are put on pause.

Here are a few answers to questions you might have…

Tropical Leaf by Alex Muravev from the Noun Project

1. Are you still open for business?

YES!

I am still actively answering enquiries, taking bookings, meeting couples over video calls, and working on post-production for all the weddings shot so far this year.

However, there are changes around here. To be part of the solution and not the problem, I have stopped photographing gatherings and events specifically FOR THE TIME BEING. Late 2020 and 2021 requests still welcome.

2. Should I enquire now or hold off?

Due to a lot of affected couples moving their weddings to later this year, availability is becoming limited for new bookings for the second half of 2020. Enquiries will be treated on a first-in-best-dressed basis!

3. Is it safe to book in now? What if I need to reschedule?

YES it’s safe to keep making enquiries and book in.

My current clients will always have priority over new business. To current clients, I’ve offered every single couple the option to move their wedding date without any fees or charges due to this unprecedented event.

4. What have your other couples done?

Some have chosen to postpone their wedding to a date completely.

Others have chosen to scale their wedding ceremony down to a micro wedding (total of 5 including me as a witness!) and have a big celebration later on when we’re in the all clear!

When we get to the other side

Photography, like any art form, is essential to how we recover and rebuild. When this peak period is over, I’ll be ready to capture beautiful memories to brighten your home.

No doubt there will be a lot of heartache to come out of this but I think there will also be some amazing lessons and learnings. One big one that I am already realising is that connection, family and relationships are the greatest gifts we have and I will be here to capture that for you on the other side.

Please support small businesses doing it tough if it’s within your means, stay healthy, and take some time to slow down, connect and plan your family time and perhaps how you’d like it documented. ❤️
